About
Claire McDonough, RN, PMHNP
Welcome! I am a nurse, counselor, mother, educator, and LGBT-ally with a mission to promote mental health and mental wellness. I believe in providing integrative psychiatry that transcends a sterile checklist of symptoms, and instead provides a slowed-down and collaborative approach to mental health. You are the expert on YOU, and I simply want keep our conversation going. I think it is absolutely necessary to have a dialogue about how social context interacts with your health needs. We will discuss various paths toward transformation, including medications, psychotherapy, herbal supplements, counseling, social skills, mindfulness, nutrition, and fitness.
As a client, you will notice my conversational style and compassionate demeanor, and my desire to talk about what is important to you. I have prescriptive authority and am able to prescribe psychiatric medications. I have a special interest in working with depression, anxiety, postpartum mood changes, and addiction problems, and I am LGBTQIA+-affirming. I work with clients who are age 18 and older.
